Emily
McCullogh

Emily started practising yoga after her mother returned home from the Kripalu Yoga Center in Massachusetts with a Kripalu Yoga Teacher Certificate in 1996. She has had a regular yoga practice since 2002. She is also a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher since 2006, and has used this training as a life tool in a myriad of ways – as a yoga teacher, student, musician, volleyball coach, university teaching assistant, friend, sister and daughter.

She completed her BA in Global Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2010, and a Master's degree in Sustainability Studies at Trent University in 2012. She went on earn a PhD in Sport Sociology at York University, focusing on the experience of care and caring in youth competitive volleyball. Emily's current work is in the fields of public health and road safety, with a focus on sustainable transportation and the protection of vulnerable road users (e.g. anyone who walks or wheels).

As a member of Sunlilyoga’s staff, Emily is a retreat and Yoga Teacher Training assistant and advisor. She brings her musical talents to the vibrant Sunlilyoga community into special events and live music classes by sharing her beautiful voice and her music.
