Kripalu
Yoga
The goal of Kripalu Yoga is to develop a healthy
and strong body, an open and caring heart and
a peaceful and clear mind.

Kripalu Yoga, yoga with compassion, mindfully unites mind, body and spirit through proper alignment in postures (asanas), conscious control of breath (pranayama) and meditation. It is about non-judgmental compassionate self-acceptance. Kripalu yoga is practiced not only on the mat, but more importantly, off the mat. It is intended to teach us not only how to stand on our heads, but also how to better stand on our own two feet.
Steady practice of postures is the first stage in this yoga tradition. As we progress, postures are held longer, accompanied by deeper inner awareness. Ultimately, Kripalu yoga is about honouring the wisdom of the body, allowing the ego to be the witness and the body to be the true teacher.
Classes are suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. We emphasize asanas and pranayama to increase the flow of energy in the body, to reduce stress and to improve circulation, felxibility and strength. We work with meditation in motion to quiet the mind. Constant attention is paid to safety and comfort.
