Amazing

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to spend 6 days in Algonquin Park with three other fellow paddlers and yoga enthusiasts.

This park is a beautiful treasure that some wise folks in 1893 recognized needed to be protected from unregulated logging, so that generations to come would enjoy the phenomenal abundance of Nature and her stunning beauty. The endless lakes, ponds, and streams of this area are best explored by canoe or by foot.  We chose to use our trusty canoes.   It was a true experience of yoga in action.  Everywhere we looked was a union of body, mind, soul and spirit.  The distractions of daily suburban living faded away.  ‘Being in the moment’ was all that was.  Each cloud, sound, smell and sight continuously drew us back to now.  The word most uttered on this trip was ‘amazing’.

This was effortless mindfulness.  However, we don’t have to always travel hours to find it.  The natural world can still be experienced closer to home.  A local park, a stream, a walking trail, a tree in your neighbourhood, or a garden, or observing the falling of raindrops, are all examples of places we can find stillness and clarity.  The only thing needed to do is to pause, to breathe,

and to take the time to be.

If you wish to have a four hour guided experience in Nature at Mill Pond in Richmond Hill, Terry, one of the people on the above-mentioned canoe trip, will be leading a group Sunday, October 26th, 1-5 pm.

No need to travel far to find peace and calm within.  The magic of Nature is everywhere if we pause, breathe and look.

Below you’ll find the details for this ‘playshop’.

Many blessings,

Jai Bhagwan
