Thoughts on Energy

We evolve, grow and change with the cycles of Nature, but also
with the thought patterns that fill our days.
Our bodies, minds, and hearts are a reflection of all that we pay attention to,
as well as all that we experience. We are in charge of what we think.
However, as members of present day society, we are easily flooded with distractions, which may make us feel that our thoughts aren’t even our own.
We can easily be drawn into the drama of issues that catapult us into the depths of concern, worry, anger and even despair.
Regardless of what may be swirling in our external world,
we are our thoughts. Our response to each and every distraction is defined by our ability to ‘hold space’ for ourselves. This ability is practised and honed on our yoga mat and/or meditation cushion. It is here, in the quiet of our own presence, that we are truly empowered to witness our response to our thoughts, feelings, worries, and concerns. It is here that we practise how to
guide our thoughts, so that our functional and loving energy
can flow when we are ‘off the mat’.
Sometimes being on our ‘mat’ or ‘cushion’ may actually
be walking along a forest path,
gazing at a sunrise, watching a dewdrop on a newly emerged leaf,
or dancing with blissful abandon to a favourite piece of music.
At other times, it we may be that we are called to practise in a group,
where each person's presence supports our desire
to guide our attention to where we want energy to flow.
So, observe your thoughts. By being the witness to our own experiences,
we are at the helm. We can make decisions that are based on clarity
and on our deepest truth.
Where your thoughts and attention go, energy will flow.
Where do you want your energy to flow in your life?
Many blessings,
Jai Bhagwan
